Urban Assistance, Mers-les-Bains, Picardie

Creation of an urban and landscape strategy for the sustainable development of the seaside town of Mers-les-Bains

The objective of the mission is to create an urban and landscape strategy working closely with the local actors to draw out a global vision for the future of Mers and to create a true town project.

It responds to the following issues:

- improving and reinforcing the tourist amenities at Mers;
- revamping the rich potential (architecture, landscape, history) of Mers;
- reinforcing the housing supply,
- improving the living environment by requalifying the urban space and promoting the environmental aspects;
- giving the city of Mers-les-Bains a strategic position within the surrounding interregional territory and within the Littoral Picard.

The desire to strengthen sustainably the socio-economic and tourist attractiveness of Mers-les-Bains covers these five objectives entirely. The priority actions that need to be carried out to achieve them are various: restructuring the Prairie site, redeveloping the public spaces, creating a new accessibility plan and increasing the housing supply.
